Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 19, 2026
Introduction
Iris ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Jigsawme. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use the Iris mobile application ("App"), a peer-to-peer home and baby monitoring tool.
Information We Collect
No Account Required
Iris does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information to use the App's core streaming features.
Signaling Metadata
- Room codes: Temporary 6-digit codes used to establish connections between devices. These are not linked to any identity and expire when the session ends.
- WebRTC negotiation data: Offer/answer metadata and ICE candidates required to set up the P2P connection. This passes through our signaling server transiently and is not stored.
Motion Detection Notifications
- Push notification tokens: If you enable motion alerts, we store an Expo push token on our server to deliver notifications. This token is not linked to any personal identity.
- Motion detection occurs entirely on your device — no video frames are sent to our servers.
Device Information
- Basic device and OS information may be collected for diagnostics and app stability purposes.
Video and Audio — Not Stored
Video and audio streams travel directly between your devices using WebRTC encrypted connections (DTLS-SRTP). Our signaling server only facilitates the initial handshake — it does not relay, intercept, record, or have access to your video or audio content at any point.
How We Use Your Information
- To establish and maintain real-time P2P connections between camera and viewer devices
- To deliver motion detection push notifications to your device
- To improve the App and diagnose technical issues
Data Sharing
- We do not sell, trade, or rent any user data to third parties
- Signaling metadata is transient and not retained after your session ends
- Push tokens are used solely to deliver motion alerts to your own device
- We may share data if required by applicable law
Data Retention
Session metadata (room codes, ICE candidates) is discarded when your session ends. Push notification tokens are removed when you disable motion alerts or uninstall the App.
Children's Privacy
Iris is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App's monitoring features are intended to be operated by adults to monitor their own property or dependents.
Third-Party Services
- Expo / EAS — App build, update delivery, and push notifications
- WebRTC — Direct encrypted P2P video/audio connections (no third-party servers involved in video relay)
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by other means.
